Problem:

First generation and low-income students face daunting challenges when they start thinking about going to college. Primarily, these challenges are barriers to information: choosing a college, understanding the college application process, finding financial aid, and successfully completing the process of applying. The KnowHow2Go site helps students who don't have the resources or mentors to help them through the college selection process.

The Solution

KnowHow2Go.org is designed to give students the information they seek, quickly and intuitively. Since students at various grade levels have different questions about college, we developed a context-driven interface to guide students to appropriate information instead of overwhelming them with everything. Additionally, the KnowHow2Go site incorporates several peer-to-peer features that allow parents, teachers, school counselors, and students to share content with one another.
