Located north of the Adirondack Mountains (it's only an hour and a half from the Canadian Border), SUNY Potsdam features a unique location, a challenging climate, and an extraordinary sense of community amongst its students.
While one of the more distinct members of the SUNY system, SUNY Potsdam was nevertheless struggling to differentiate itself. idfive conducted a comprehensive Web360™ to help SUNY Potsdam better understand its brand and positioning and discovered that what drew prospects to the school was a combination of its tight-knit feel, location, and sense of community amongst its students.
The new web site (constructed on top of the CommonSpot CMS) is designed to feature the people and location of the school as clearly and beautifully as possible, emphasizing the "Potsdam Difference" while highlighting its unique qualities in an open and honest way. After its launch in November, 2008 over 70% of the students responded extremely positively to the redesign of the site.
SUNY Potsdam's website won "Best of Category" for SUNYCUAD Awards for Excellence (May 2009), and it was selected as a Silver winner of the Higher Education Marketing Report's 24th annual Admissions Advertising Award competition (March 2009).
