About Us

Idfive is a Baltimore based advertising, web development, digital media, and brand consulting firm.

Idfive was founded in late 2005 by a group of seasoned online communications professionals who shared a common philosophy belief that great design comes only through truly understanding our clients, their audiences, and the kinds of communication that link them together.

It started with the merger of two interactive firms –  Albright Cohen Partners and SmartTank Group –  and a design firm, Design by Five. Formed by some of the best interactive and marketing minds (with a combined total of 60 years of experience!) in the Baltimore/Washington region, idfive leveraged the Higher Education and non-profit web development and marketing expertise of some of its key partners to become one of the leading higher education/non-profit online marketing and web development companies in the region. Along the way, we have grown our business to include practice areas in Financial Services, Health Care, and Business to Business verticals.

Design Philosophy

At idfive, we have based our business on what we call “design with a capital D.” Design is really about beautiful solutions, regardless of channel or medium. To us, the code that underlies the backend of a web site is just as important as the visuals that users interact with, on the screen or on paper.

Design is about solving problems, getting results, and doing so in the most elegant and delightful way possible. Great design appears effortless—and inevitable.

Consumers who interact with great design are experiencing a transparent window into your brand. Your brand, simply put, is your organization. Every time your audience interacts with your company or institution, they are experiencing your brand. And each of these interactions should be as beautifully Designed (note the big D!) as possible.

Whether it’s your logo and tagline, your advertisements and marketing communications—or, less glamorously, your customer support, fulfillment, and reliability—your brand must be implicitly understood and communicated every time your company interacts with the outside world. It’s our job to make sure that those experiences match the goals and philosophies of the organizations that we work for.
